WAYNE Pumps Green Pump Gets High Ratings in HANDY Magazine

Look for the WAYNE Pumps  new energy-saving sump pump in the August/September 2010 issue of HANDY Magazine, where it received a 95% approval rating after a product test. HANDY is the official magazine of The Handyman Club of America (HCOA), which selected 20 of its members to test the revolutionary new pump. Members rated the WAYNE ¾ HP Submersible Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Sump Pump for durability, ease of installation, performance and convenience. Members were pleased with the quick set-up and flawless performance after heavy rains. They also gave high marks to the iSwitch technology, finding that the lack of moving parts that can get hung up was a huge plus.  “I would recommend this sump pump for it’s ease of setup, efficiency and quiet operation,” said HCOA member Terence King of Cresskill, NJ.   “One of the best features is the new water level sensor.  No moving parts!”

Expected in hardware stores by late August, the WAYNE ¾ HP Submersible Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Sump Pump can save up to 50% on energy bills as well as serve as the first line of defense for basement protection.  The HANDY Magazine August/September issue with the WAYNE Pumps test results is on newsstands now and appears on their Web site at http://www.handymanclub.com.

WAYNE Pumps Gives Tips for Busy Hurricane Season

With the National Weather Service predicting an “active to extremely active” hurricane season along the Atlantic coast and inland, experts at WAYNE Pumps say preparedness is extremely important in protecting valuables and family heirlooms. WAYNE Pumps distributor Cherie and Todd Steward, who own Steward’s Ace Hardware in Clinton, CT, saw firsthand how flooding can catch homeowners unaware. In March, an unprecedented flash flood had residents lining up out the door. According to Cherie Steward, stacks of WAYNE sump pumps and Ace brands were filmed by the local TV news, as they literally flew out the door (see video). “Customers hadn’t seen flood waters like this in more than a decade,” she said. “We had to quickly educate customers on the difference between sump pumps which permanently operate in a sump pit and utility pumps, which are portable and used to remove standing water.”

Here are some tips from WAYNE Pumps to help you stay prepared in the coming storm and hurricane season:

  • Start with a quality sump pump with enough power to handle large volumes of water. New models from WAYNE also use up to 50% less energy.
  • If your sump pump is more than ten years old, you should consider replacing it with better technology.
  • WAYNE’s new safeguards include iSwitch technology, a more reliable switch that senses water levels with a microprocessor. With no moving parts, it resists corrosion and lasts five times longer than traditional switches.
  • Battery backup pumps are essential in case of power loss.
  • WAYNE has introduced a new wireless alarm that can be heard just about anywhere in the home in case of pump failure.

A busy storm season does not have to spell disaster for your home and valuables.  Be smart and be ready with the right protection for your basement.

WAYNE Pumps Makes Splash at National Hardware Show in Las Vegas

WAYNE Pumps at Hardware Show WAYNE Pumps experienced a high level of interest in their many new products at the National Hardware, held May 4 – 6th in Las Vegas, with their enticing new booth and bold graphics, plus fun giveaways.  Products like the Green energy efficient sump pumps that move more water with up to 50% less energy were a hit, as well as the company’s  iSwitch technology, the most intelligent and reliable switch on the market today which is designed to last five times longer than traditional switches. Other new products were also well received, including the Silent Sump System, which eliminates the typical noisy slam of the check valve, as well as a superior Self Testing Battery Back Up pump and a wireless FloodAlert alarm that loudly alerts homeowners in enough time for them to take action if their pump system somehow fails.  WAYNE sump pump systems are so complete, it’s like having the infantry defend your basement!  The Hardware Show reported an increase in traffic this year over last year, which is a great sign for WAYNE Pumps and the home improvement industry in general.

Along with hardware pros, the media was taking notice as well, as WAYNE Pump’s Charles Murphy, Director of Business Development, was featured on two popular national radio shows, The Money Pit and Gary Sullivan At Home, where he discussed the exciting new array of WAYNE products.
